A round of rain showers moved through the region during the overnight hours and some light showers are ongoing in the region. Just off to our west and about to move into our area is a line of thunderstorms. These thunderstorms are not severe but they will come with some heavy rainfall as they move through the region.
These showers and thunderstorms will hang around throughout the entire day today as we have been expecting over the last few days, bringing with it a general 1-3” of rainfall depending on whether or not you see one of the heavier showers set up over you. Be prepared in the event that you are driving and you were to encounter a flooded roadway, understand that 6” of moving water is enough to sweep a car away, don’t drive into a flooded roadway as you do not know what is underneath the water nor do you know how deep the water is.
Looking ahead for the next couple of days we will be seeing rain chances come and go throughout much of the week before we are able to get a break in the rain chances just in time for the weekend!
This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week! Over the last couple of weeks we have been posting videos leading up to this week in order to begin to bring awareness to certain severe weather topics. If you have any questions about severe weather, send them to us. We are working on putting together a question and answer style video about severe weather and would value your input! Share this post with your friends so that they can get the forecast as well as ask any questions that they might have.
