Some light rain moved through the region overnight but that has since cleared out giving way to mostly cloudy conditions. These clouds will thin and we should see some sunshine as we progress into the afternoon!
This clearing will be sort lived as we get another chance for rain tomorrow. With the system tomorrow there is a potential for some thunderstorms, a couple of which could contain stronger winds. Because of this the Storm Prediction Center has placed us under a Marginal (1/5) Risk for severe weather. This will not be a widespread severe weather event.
Looking ahead toward the weekend, another cold front will make its way into the region on Friday, bringing with it another chance of rain. This cold front will bring with it colder temperatures that will be closer to average for January.
